The coastline of Denia extends for a distance of more than 20 km, divided into a number of sandy beaches, Punta del Raset, Les Marines, Les Deveses, Albaranes, Les Bovetes, Els Molins, l’Almadrava, and a number of coves, La Marineta Cassiana, El Trampoli, Punta Negra, Arenetes and La Cala.
Denia Castle is located on a hill in the historic part of the city. The archaeological museum is located in the highest part of the castle. The museum has 4 rooms dedicated to the Iberian, Roman, Muslim and Christian eras. Special features are the balsamarium that represents the God Mercury (2nd century BC), the collection of Islamic bronze and the locally produced or imported Andalusian ceramics.
The Museo del mar is a new museum space, located in the buildings of the old fish market. The collection includes 400 archaeological and ethnological pieces, related to the sea, from periods from the 6th century BC to the early 20th century.
Furthermore, the city offers a multitude of historical buildings, archaeological remains and churches. Also worth a visit are the historic center, the Barrio Les Roques, Explanada Cervantes, and Barrio Baix la Mar.
